With a background in geology and geotechnical engineering, Arnaud STEPHAN worked for nearly 15 years as a consulting engineer specializing in project management and site supervision. In 2015, as the first drones became widely available, he immediately recognized their potential for all fields of land use planning, his core area of expertise. He trained in drone piloting and obtained all necessary certifications (DGAC, etc.). He founded the company Latitude Drone in Annecy, Haute-Savoie, and assists numerous engineering firms and local governments in producing their construction site imagery: topography, photogrammetry, 3D views, etc. At the forefront of these developments, the company has grown in size and expertise alongside its clients.
A pragmatic thinker, Arnaud cannot help but note that 70% of our planet is covered by water. He therefore did not hesitate to develop his aquatic drone solution.
In parallel with the company’s activities, his reputation as a pioneer led to him being contacted by various partners, academic and institutional, to develop innovative technical solutions and implement new processes and procedures.

Safety - Speed - Economy
In response to a request from SDIS74, Arnaud Stephan helped set up a drone section within the Haute-Savoie fire brigade. Appointed SDIS74 expert officer by the Prefect of Haute-Savoie in 2020, after organizing the equipment and training of the teams, he continues to support them on a daily basis in their missions: searching for missing persons in natural environments (mountains, hard-to-reach places, aquatic environments, etc.), locating fires, searching for hot spots, aerial reconnaissance and support for ground teams, searching for missing persons, etc.
The SDIS74 now has 15 remote pilots. A great way to make human interventions safer.
